Crimes reported over the past seven days. Burglary Dwelling Between 4.30pm on Friday 12 and 12.48pm on Monday 15 December in Alfreton Road, Sutton in Ashfield, bolts were cut on iron gates to gain entry to a property under renovation. The doors to the garage and the house were forced and a safe was stolen from the house. Burglary Other Between 9.00pm on Friday 12 and 9.00am on Saturday 13 December at Jubilee Buildings, Outram Street, Sutton in Ashfield, the back door to a shop was forced, damaging the lock. The shop was entered and the cash till was stolen. Theft of motor vehicle Between 10.30pm on Wednesday 10 and 7.00am on Thursday 11 December on The Shires, Sutton in Ashfield, a white Nissan Navara was stolen At some time between Sunday 14 and Tuesday 16 December in Station Road, Sutton in Ashfield, a blue BMW 435d XDrive was stolen. It was found later burnt out. Between 5.45pm and 6.15pm on Tuesday 16 December in Silverhill Lane, Teversal, Sutton in Ashfield, a white BMW 320d, parked in the Silverhill Wood car park, was stolen while the owner was walking the dog. Theft from motor vehicle At 2.39am on Thursday 11 December in Tom Simpson Way, Sutton in Ashfield, a report of a white male, 6.00”, slim build, wearing a baseball cap under a black hoodie and blue jogging bottoms, trying the door handles of multiple cars along the street. Around 8.20am on Monday 15 December in Brook Street, Sutton in Ashfield, a white Ford Transit Connect van, parked on Morven Avenue while the owner visited the Post Office, was entered and a work bag and mobile phone left on the passenger seat were stolen. Around 11.25pm on Monday 15 December in Jephson Road, Sutton in Ashfield an attempt was made to break into an orange Ford Transit van by a white male, age 30’s, 5-11”, slim to medium build, short dark hair, wearing blue shorts and a blue anorak. He was disturbed by the owner who chased him down the road. Theft At 2.16pm on Saturday 13 December in Dalestorth Road, Sutton in Ashfield, a parcel left by a delivery service was stolen from a doorstep. Robbery Around 8.47pm on Tuesday 16 December in Alfreton Road, Sutton in Ashfield, two white males were filling baskets with meat and wash pods in the Co-op store were challenged as they tried to leave without paying, a scuffle broke out and a staff member was pushed and fell to the floor. His glasses were broken and he cut both his hands on the glass. The first male was about 6-00” and had his hood up face covered, wearing a dark jacket and joggers. The second also 6.00” had short dark hair, wearing a grey/black jacket, joggers. Both had J D bags over their shoulders. Criminal Damage Nothing to report ASB At 10.52pm on Thursday 11 December in Davies Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield, wiring to outside Christmas lights was cut and the lights removed and placed in bags, which were then dumped further down the avenue. This has happened three times.
